So this is new and VERY hot. Drum roll....the world's FIRST clinically backed and peer-reviewed menstrual health course, Menstrual Cycle Support, was launched in Parliament on 10th October 2022. Endorsed by the Government’s Women’s Health Ambassador, the CEO of Endometriosis UK & the President of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the new online course is totally FREE AND you can self-refer and sign up now! Educate yourself, your daughters and start to reduce suffering ASAP:

I literally get asked this ALL the time. My response is usually 'potentially it could help' but you HAVE to be realistic and bear in mind that replacing three hormones (oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone) is not going to wipe out a lifetime of trauma, buffer a relationship with alcohol that needs rethinking or ever replace a nutrient-dense diet alongside regular weight-bearing exercise.

Also, HRT is just three hormones.

Our lived experience is made up of a symphony of over 50 hormones and everyone has different background levels of each.

Taking body identical HRT (common place in the UK since 2016) can SOMETIMES help reduce SOME symptoms for SOME people. That said, most of my patient caseload comprises of women who are already on HRT but still require more input to help manage symptoms/address root causes of their imbalances. This podcast discusses what actually ARE body identical hormones? Should we worry about modern-day HRT? How oral progesterone can help with very heavy periods and how testosterone affects males and females completely differently.

As a Women's Health practitioner, I often see women in their 40's and 50's who suffer with dry skin, weight-gain, constipation, low mood/anxiety, no energy and thinning hair. They often ask if HRT would help with this but more often than not, an under active thyroid gland is to blame.

Unfortunately, the NHS only offers testing of TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) as standard which is not even a thyroid hormone, it's a pituitary one!

So I advise my patients to take an advanced thyroid panel which looks at 10 different markers of thyroid health, namely T3, T4, TSH, TgA and TPO antibodies, vitamin D, vitamin B12, folate, ferritin and CRP. This extensive panel sheds SO much light on what is going on for our thyroid glands and enables more targeted treatments either working with me or your GP.

If any of the above rings true for you, you can order your Advanced Thyroid Test direct with Medichecks NOW!

Do book in for a FREE Discovery Call via my website if you wish to discuss either of these options further in relation to your own libido and/or vaginal dryness issues.
